I was just reading about my town on Wikipedia and found out that the Supernatural episode "Wishful Thinking" was mostly filmed in Squamish.

I found some youtube clips and I couldn't believe that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki were walking right down the main street! And now I do remember back in the spring of 2008 seeing notices about something filming in the area so the street would be shut down, but I just assumed it was something crappy like The Guard.

I'm not a huge fan of the show or the actors or anything, but I still think it would've been cool if I saw Jensen or Jared. Or even Ted Raimi! Oh well, maybe I'll just have to wait around for Joshua Jackson (almost typed Jonathan there, must be a SCC fan) or Anna Torv.

Oh to be a young woman in St. Petersburg at the turn of the century. I read about how he leaned in close to them and caressed them and in his eyes they saw their salvation and from his healing hands they were blessed. I wish I could've been one of them, a loyal devotee.

It hurts to think that people don't know the truth and only listen to the trashy gossip. He's been villified countless times, all by scared, repressed, jealous little men who couldn't stand the thought of their worldview expanding.

He was not a sorceror. He was not a rapist. He was not a drunken lecherous fool. He was not a cult leader. He was not evil.

They didn't understand what he was, who he was. So they spread rumours, crucified him in the papers and then brutally murdered him. And even that story, the one of his death, isn't the whole truth.

He was full of love and life, he healed people, he helped them. But he wasn't celibate like the others and they couldn't accept that. They were so hung up on sin, so preoccupied with their moral objections that they couldn't, wouldn't listen to another viewpoint.

He was the new way of thinking, but their narrow little minds couldn't handle it and so he was executed. And the rumours and the lascivious stories followed for a century, drowning out the truth.

He was a martyr that will never be recognized. He is Saint Rasputin, a holy man doomed to be remembered in a history written by a Judas.

But I believe.

It's been exactly one year since I came hom from Texas.

Last October I weighed 192 lbs. Now I'm 150! I haven't eaten potato chips or cheezies since I came back.

This is the longest I've stayed in one place since graduating and I've had the same job for almost 10 months now.

It doesn't seem like a year has passed. The other night a movie was on tv and I was thinking "Didn't I just see this?" Yes, I had. Last year on Halloween.

Time really does fly.

Sometimes I wonder what it's like to have friends. It's like I can almost remember, but it's been so long it seems like just a distant memory. Did it really happen? Were they real?

I forget what it's like to laugh till you can't breathe. I can't remember the last time the phone rang and it was for me. Do people still hang out together and talk and really listen to each other?

I miss those things.

I am currently baking a pecan pumpkin pie. Why? Just for the hell of it. I figured I should graduate from cookies to pies. I didn't make the crust though, that will be my next step. But I did make the filling myself, it wasn't a premade one. Now we'll just have to see how it tastes.

Also, I have weight news! I decided to measure myself again and I really can't believe the numbers. I think they're lying.

Old Measurements, from December: (181 lbs)

Stomach at the largest point - 39 1/2

Today's Measurements: (152 lbs)
Bust - 39
Waist - 30
Hips - 36 1/2
Stoamch at the largest point - 35 1/2

I can't believe I've lost that much, but the tape measure (and my old clothes) don't lie. The other day I noticed that I could take off my old jeans without undoing them. And my board shorts (that I pretty much lived in when I was in Texas) don't even stay on my body anymore.

So now I've just got to work on my upper arms and back, which is still a bit chunky. But on the plus side, I no longer have side rolls if I scrunch up my body, so yay! :D

I'm sad because we were supposed to be playing baseball tonight, but it's rainy. I've been asking nature to bring out the sun by this afternoon, but I don't think it'll happen. And it was our last game before the tournament too! Boo-urns!

But aside from that minor upset I have to say that I am quite enjoying myself these days. I remember last year when I used to just sit on my computer for hours on end on my days off and do nothing else. Now when I have time to myself I exercise and read and cook and work on my novel and go for walks (if it's nice out).

On Sunday me and my dad went out on our little boat and just puttered around. He says he's going to sell it soon because he never uses it anymore and I realized that I hadn't been on it in over four years so I wanted one last jaunt. It was very pretty on the water, even if it was a bit chilly.

So that's real life for ya. I may be friendless and husbandless, but at least I'm in shape and enjoying reading and cooking and making a little bit of money too. I'm just laying the foundation for future wedded bliss. Learnin' the skills and workin' on the bod. It won't be long till I snag someone. ;)
